A little over two weeks after being placed into service SP 7230 leads a freight heading for West Colton traveling on the Palmdale Cutoff. A photo of this same train at the same location by Dale Sanders appears on page 115 of Joe Strapac's Southern Pacific Review 1978-1979. You can see yours truly and my good friend Robert Tinkham in the background of Dale's photo taken from the hill a little west of our location. |
